Installation notes: pivot and articulated shower systems
Pivot and articulated columns add a single degree of freedom to the exposed tall family: the overhead arm can be swung or extended to accommodate off-centre users, walk-in enclosures, and geometries where the shower tray is not directly below the control valve.
Rough-in
Hot and cold at 150 mm centres. The wall bracket carries the whole column; confirm the fixing substrate is solid masonry or a correctly reinforced stud wall before marking the fixings.
Alignment
With an articulated arm, the overhead head should be positioned over the centre of the user footprint, not the centre of the tray. A 50 mm offset toward the glass or toward the seat is often the correct commissioning position for an accessible bathroom.
Cartridge and thermostatic check
Run the thermostatic cartridge through its full range at commissioning. The articulated arm does not affect the water path, but the longer pipe run from valve to head increases thermal settling time — confirm the set temperature holds for 30 seconds before handover.
Handover
Leave the commissioning data and the VALA specification sheet with the site file. If the project uses more than one pivot system, record the arm angle and extension for each so that future cleaning or service reproduces the original commissioned geometry.
Full specification drawings and finish samples are available from the shower range page, via sample request, or by opening a project inquiry.
